- Samadharana dritaanam is normally interpreted as samapramaana sthhapitaanami.e all the ingredients taken in equal quantity. Sarvangasundara teeka of Ashtangahridaya gives one more explanation which mentions dharana as a term of measurement which equals 1/10th of 1 pala (धरण शब्देन पलस्य दशमो भाग उच्यते)
- Bhaishajyaratnavali explains Hinguashtaka choorna in Agnimandya chikitsa and is advised in conditions to increase Jataragni (digestive fire) and to treat Vatarogas.

- According to Vidyotini teeka of Bhaishajyaratnavali; Ajamoda is to be taken as Yamanika/Yavani/Ajwain whenever used for internal administration and as Ajamoda for external applications. Similar reference can be found in Paribhasha Pradeepa also which states
