Aushdha Sevana Kala : Grasa

Sahapana  : Ghrita

Therapeutic Utility : Bhrisha Agni Deepana, Vatagulma Hara

Additional Points

  • Samadharana dritaanam is normally interpreted as samapramaana sthhapitaanami.e all the ingredients taken in equal quantity. Sarvangasundara teeka of Ashtangahridaya gives one more explanation which mentions dharana as a term of measurement which equals 1/10th of 1 pala (धरण शब्देन पलस्य दशमो भाग उच्यते)
  • Bhaishajyaratnavali explains Hinguashtaka choorna in Agnimandya chikitsa and is advised in conditions to increase Jataragni (digestive fire) and to treat Vatarogas.

प्रथमकवलभुक्तं सर्पिषा चूर्णमेतज्जनयति जठराग्निं वातरोगांश्च हन्ति ।।

  • According to Vidyotini teeka of Bhaishajyaratnavali; Ajamoda is to be taken as Yamanika/Yavani/Ajwain whenever used for internal administration and as Ajamoda for external applications. Similar reference can be found in Paribhasha Pradeepa also which states

अन्त: परिमार्जने ज्ञेया ह्यजमोदा यमानिका

बहि: सम्मार्जने चैव विज्ञातव्या अजमोदिका
