(RASATARANGINI 6/135-137)

REFERENCE – RASATARANGINI 6TH TARANGA; MOORCHANAAVIJNANEEYA; SHLOKA 135-137

METHOD OF PREPARATION – First, Hingulotha Parada is taken and subjected to mardana for 3 days with Mota (Jayanti), Uroobaka (Eranda), and Ardraka swarasa. After washing, the purified Parada is collected. Next, Gandhaka is taken and subjected to bhavana (saturation) in Bringaraja swarasa. The Gandhaka is then melted in an iron vessel and poured into Bringaraja swarasa. The purified Gandhaka and Parada are then taken in equal proportions and triturated (ground) well to form Kajjali. The Kajjali is then placed in a loha darvi (iron spoon) and melted in a fire of coal. When the Kajjali melts and becomes like wet clay, it is removed from the fire and poured onto a banana leaf spread on a platform made of cow dung. The Kajjali is then covered with another banana leaf and pressed gently, allowing it to cool and harden. The resulting preparation is called Parpati. To prevent the Kajjali from sticking to the loha darvi and to prevent the Gandhaka from burning, a small amount of ghee is applied to the loha darvi before adding the Kajjali.
